I think that Wikipedia can be a really important language learning tool. At least when it comes to things like proper nouns. For example, movies and books often have different names in other languages, not just translations. This can make talking about them even more difficult than it already is! One of the most frustrating things in my opinion is place names. Sometimes cities or countries have different names from what they do in the mother tongue there and sometimes they don't! It's hard to keep track of sometimes.

This can also be really useful for translating between languages that use different writing systems. Using Japanese as an example, using Wikipedia can help you find the official accept way of writing a name of a place, person, or thing in katakana.
